Media schizophrenia

Trump’s presidency has created a schizophrenic media cycle the likes of which I’ve never seen before. Trump tweets they jump on it. He speaks they freak out. He goes to bathroom, they’re all over it. He blinks it’s a story. EVERYTHING is a story in the crusade to "end Trump."

Get over it for crying out loud! He's just a guy. The Election is over. Talking points, media spins and an onslaught of relentless attacks and stupid questions do not determine who the president is. Like it or not, Donald Trump is the president and there are much bigger stories than Trump’s next crazy tweet. Take a valium, relax, and smile every once in a while. The world's not ending.

The sun is shining. You had three healthy meals today—and probably a nice tall latte or two. You didn’t get shot for your opinion, burned alive for your religion or decapitated for your political beliefs. You weren’t subjected to torture, female mutilation or sentenced to caning for being gay.

You didn’t crawl through rubble leftover from another bombing raid when you left your house today. You didn’t have to sneak through your neighborhood in fear of running into a warlord while searching for fresh water. You didn’t have to wait over a year to receive medical treatment for a life threatening disease or worry about finding antibiotics after your surgery. You aren’t wondering where your next meal is coming from, whether your children will be blown up on the way to school, or if malaria will wipe out your family.

We live in the greatest country on earth people. Enjoy your latte, put your first-world problems away and try enjoying life for a change. God Bless America!
